People, what the hell was up with the Sahara Extravaganza?
As far as I know we were promised the Hottest New Years Bash of the year which was supposed to last until morning...
Well, we were rudely urged to leave by having bright spotlights turned at us just after 2AM.
Honestly, other than some of the performances there was nothing hot about this event mostly because the managing staff seemed to be so on edge, they spread a layer of hostile frost over the attendees.
The guy managing people at the entrance just before midnight was so rude I actually thought he was joking when he gestured me to talk to his hand after I tired to inquire about how to get an entrance bracelet to a friend. Honestly, with the exception of Sam, who was attending Will Call and who offered me a friendly word and warm smiles, I never actually felt welcome at this Cell Space event.
I mean, yes, I know Cell Space is a drug free zone, but people -- for next year will you all please take a Chill-Pill!!!!

Wed, January 3, 2007 - 1:17 AMJoy, I am Sooo sorry about this, and want to assure you that the Sahara Event staff had nothing to do with any unfortunate hostility.
We had an awesome event planned, unfortunately lost our venue due to a last minute issue that was beyond our control. We were happy (at the time) to have found a venue, but unfortunately we were not able to do things as planned. I was SHOCKED at the way we and our guests were treated by the venue security and staff. I have never experienced anything so bad and am embarassed about it.
I can assure you that Sila, myself and the Electric Vardo crew always do our best to create good positive vibes and a genuine fun time with great performances and energy that is shared between the performers, producers and audience. We are about community, and we thought cell space was too. But unfortunately we found differently. I'm still kind of puzzled by it.
I want to send out my personal apology to all who were turned away at the door, who were treated any less han with the utmost appreciation for supporting us and an important cause on New Year's.
You will be hearing more from me, once I have calmed down and am in a better state of mind, and have heard more from others.
I would like to hear more about other peoples' experiences that night. I want to know Everything. This is just not ok with me.
